| Boat: Take a shared or private slow boat from the central Mekong pier in Luang Prabang. | 1.5 - 2 hours upstream, 1 hour return | $10-$15 USD shared, $30-$40 USD private | The most traditional and scenic way to visit, offering a glimpse into daily river life. |
| Tour: Book a half-day guided boat tour or full-day multi-stop tour from local agencies in Luang Prabang. | 4 - 8 hours | $25 - $60 USD | Tours often bundle hotel transfers, cave entrance, lunch, and stops at the Whisky Village or Kuang Si Falls. |

Practical Advice
Dress modestly for your visit. Shoulders and knees must be covered to enter this sacred site. You must remove your footwear if entering specific designated shrine platforms. Local signage will guide you.
Wear comfortable walking shoes with good grip. The 200 stone steps to the upper cave are uneven and can be slippery. Carry bottled water, as the humidity is high, and bring insect repellent for the jungle path.
